US jerseys remind forward of Kate Upton

The new jersey were worn for the first time against Mexico last night

The reaction to the new USA soccer team's uniforms has been fairly negative with many people comparing the red, white and blue striped jersey to popsicles and others saying that it even looks French.

However, Nike appear to have found a fan in Hercuez Gomez. The US forward took to twitter last night to say that he approves of the new unis because it reminds him of a certain picture of Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Kate Upton.
Gomez tweeted: "I happen to like the new USMNT kits." He also included a link to the picture of the model enjoying a popsicle.
Gomez was not involved in the squad for the friendly, which ended 2-2, and I'm not sure that this show of support for the team's uniforms will necessarily earn him a recall for the World Cup this summer.
The forward, who currently plays for Tijuana in Mexico, has represented the United States on 24 occasions, scoring six goals.
