Nike’s We Run Series™ Comes to Lagos!

On Saturday, 16 November, Nike’s We Run race will kick off in Lagos for the first time to inspire, support and connect runners around the world. Lagos will be the 16th city out of 26 cities which will run a race this year, with 2000 runners expected to participate in the first We Run Lagos race. 
 
The runners will be part of a global We Run race movement, and will see a total of 350,000 anticipated runners in 2013, take over 3 billion strides during the course of the WE Run race series. It will forge a new global community of athletes through Nike’s most connected race series yet with innovative Nike+ technology. Continue...
 
Refreshed by Aquafina, The Nike We Run Lagos 10km race will flag off from the Onikan stadium, through the Eko Bridge and terminate at the Teslim Balogun stadium Surulere, Lagos. It is a first of its kind in Nigeria.
Proud participants can expect a unique and memorable experience as they will be running against the backdrop of some of Lagos’s iconic landmarks.
Registration is FREE and begins on 1st November 2013, on www.werunlagos.com.
 Interested participants are advised to register early because the slots are limited and are being filled up quickly.
  • Race pack collection for successfully registered participants will take place at the Onikan Stadium on the race day, Saturday 16th November, 2013,between 6.am and 7.30 am. Race commences 8.00 am.
  • FREE transportation from Teslim Balogun Stadium to the Startpoint from 6.am to 7.30 am and FREE transportation from the endpoint to TBS from 11.00am to 2pm on race day!
  • There will be Refreshment/water-points along the route to refresh participants.
  • FREE parking for all cars at the National Stadium Car Park and Onikan Stadium on race day.
  • The first 100 participants and the last 10 to cross the finish line will each be rewarded with a free pair of Nike shoes. While there is a surprise Prize for the winning Male and Female!
