You’re on your first date, things are already a little uncomfortable and awkward, so what’s worse than watching a movie that only makes the awkwardness stand out more? Movies are supposed to be the easy out in easing the tension between the two of you, allowing you to have some quiet time, get close and snuggle up… not make you want to head for the hills from embarrassment of what pops up on the TV or how you react to it. I asked my friend Alex Wise - a co-founder of Loveawake dating service and a relationship coach to sent me his a list of movies to avoid when browsing the video store for good date flicks. His advice seemed pretty helpful for singles.

SportsWear manufacturing giant Nike have suspended Maria Sharapova's $50m deal after the Russian athlete admitted to using a banned drug. The WTA ranked World No. 7 admitted in her press conference yesterday that she had been using performance enhancer drug meldonium for the last 10 years as part of a doctor's prescription for health issues and didn't know it was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency in December. Sharapova, who is the world's highest earning female athlete, making as much as $20m in 2015 alone, might lose her other lucrative contracts with Tag Heuer, American Express, Porsche, Evian and Avon. In a statement, Nike said: “We are saddened and surprised by the news about Maria Sharapova. “We have decided to suspend our relationship with Maria while the investigation continues. We will continue to monitor the situation.” Sharapova, a five-time Grand Slam champion now faces a ban of up to four years which would end her career as a professional athlete.

Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, says Nigeria's economic reality is being exaggerated and is not as bad as it is being portrayed. Dangote said this while speaking at the Economist Forum in Lagos, yesterday March 7th. Dangote said while some businesses faced serious challenges, others did not. “It all depends on the business. I think people are underrating the economy of Nigeria. They just go and look at foreign exchange because oil has gone down and believe that everything has gone out of the window. That is not correct”.

A delegation of the Swiss government led by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Didier Burkhalter, will arrive Nigeria today March 8th to discuss with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the repatriation of another $321 million Abacha loot. Confirming this to  Premium Times , an official of the Swiss Embassy in Nigeria, Pascal Holliger, said “Yes, our foreign Minister is on his way to Nigeria on Tuesday. He is coming on a working visit to Nigeria. During the visit, he would open the Consular General’s office in Lagos and meet with the Vice President of Nigeria and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss the issue of the repatriation of the second tranche of the Abacha loot”.

President Jacob Zuma of South Africa arrived Nigeria last night on a two day state visit. He was received by former vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama. During his visit, Zuma will have bilateral talks with President Buhari, meet with the Nigerian business community and the South African community in Nigeria. His visit will end tomorrow March 9th.

The world's longest aircraft called Airlander 10,  which is as large as a football pitch and as high as six double decker buses, is set to take its first test flight in a few days time. The unique aerodynamic balloon-like shape of the Airlander 10 cost $100 million (£60m) to make and can fly at maximum speed of 92mph for five days straight, it carries around 10-tons of cargo and can land on water.
